Ali Gutiérrez Romero

• architect, designer & illustrator •

Hi! Hello! Hallo! ¡Hola!

My name is Alicia (Yes! Like "The Good Wife"!), but everybody calls me Ali.

I’m an architect-designer-illustrator (I should invent a word for that) living in Madrid for the time being, but hopefully not for long. The world awaits!

I have my B.Arch + M.Arch in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid along with a landscape specialization. I studied a one year course in Fashion Illustration and Design at Universität der Künst in Berlin (UDK), and a jewelry course in Berlin too. I’m currently finishing a specialization on Game Design by the California University of Arts (Calarts) through Coursera.

I work as an architect and as an independent designer and illustrator. As an architect I’ve worked on theme park design and entertainment architecture along with retail and exhibition space design.

As a freelancer I take on a variety of projects; everything from illustration, book covers, surface pattern design, stationery, branding, packaging, image retouching and whatever a client has in mind.

I consider myself a freak of online courses (Skillshare, Treehouse, Coursera…) I just never have enough of them! And I’m definitely a Pinterest Jedi! I spend more time than you could imagine surfing around the web in search of new inspiration.

I don’t have just one dream job, I would devote myself to anything creatively-driven: creating sets in the film industry, designing board games, working as landscape architect or interior designer at a company, keep freelancing as an illustrator or developing my love for textiles in a studio (just to name a few!).

I welcome new commissions, freelance work, licensing collaborations along with bespoke product requests, as well as a placement at a company or studio.

You can drop me a line at, I can send you my CV in pdf or you can find me on Linkedin.
